Scrapped Games of Thrones script changes everything

A SCRIPT for the original Game of Thrones pilot has been unearthed, and it turns out things could have been very different.

The show has become one of the most beloved series’ around the world, and the new season is set to debut later this year.

Ahead of the final batch of episodes, a script dated October 22, 2009 has been found, which was around the same time the first series was due to begin filming,

In the script there are a number of big changes to the series, one of which reveals that the White Walkers were originally set to have dialogue.

In the debut episode of the show, a trio of men from the Night’s Watch are attacked by White Walkers, and all but one are brutally slain.

However, in the original script, the surviving member of the attack climbs a tree and hears something unexpected.

The script reads: “The crackling noise is coming from multiple sources now.

“These are not the noises of mindless predators. This is a language, and whatever is speaking it is getting closer.”

In the books the White Walkers do talk, however in HBO’s adaptation they are infamously mute.

The concept of talking White Walkers was once again discussed ahead of season two, but the idea was ultimately scrapped in the end.

Another change in the script comes when Daenarys (Emilia Clarke) and Khal Drogo (Jason Momoa)  have intercourse for the first time.

In the original script she consents, whereas in the episode that made it to TV, the character gets raped in a shocking scene.

Game of Thrones returns for its final season April 14.
